Annotation: This was an extremely informational source cause this analysis of Japanese books about kimono’s and kimono’s design described how each kimono was different. The designs were glorious each design was a different story, it was like putting words on paper. The designs could vary from sad to happy, each from a different period which portrayed a different emotion.

Annotation: The article is quite relevant and current to my research it talks about the evolution of Japanese fashion and how that’s changed from then to now. Also fashion in different age groups.

Annotation: It was kind of useful cause I  got a sense of how fashion changed and got more empowering. 

Another thing after WW2 finished the US was controlling it that why maybe some US fashion got implemented and they eventually overtime made it their own. Also, there are different types of fashion styles in Japan. Also overtime their traditional clothing was modernized.

Annotation: On this website, they talk about yukata’s which is different than a kimono, and yukatas are less formal and you wear them to bathhouses sometimes. They also talk about how you wear the yukatas can give a different meaning. Like if you wear the yukata the opposite way it could mean you’re going to the funeral instead of something else. Which further proves the fact that they are communicating through their clothing.

Annotation: This documentary shows how people in Japan have such different and unique styles. It showed 4 people, each with a completely different style. People can communicate with fashion by bonding by showing each other what they wear, so clothing trends can start.
